Rustic passata is a tomato puree intricately sieved and produced according to a processing method that has been handed down from generation to generation in Calabrese.
Made from the highest quality Calabrian tomatoes, carefully selected and processed within a few hours of harvesting, then cooked very slowly to ensure a high density of the final product. The addition of fresh Calabrian chili pepper is able to give a lively and intense flavor. The premium quality of the raw material avoids the use of citric acid. A large cut together with the seeds and skins of the tomato are able to give a full-bodied and unique flavor. Salt-free, therefore, perfect for those who suffer from hypertension, this passata is also gluten-free, therefore, useful for coeliacs. Ideal for traditional sauces.
