Natco Coarse Semolina, 1.5kg
Natco coarse semolina made from freshly milled Durum wheat, which is ground into a coarse flour. Use it to make Indian puddings or avan dough for Italian gnocchi. Semolina is also a great ingredient for adding texture to food – dust homemade pizza bases with a layer of semolina for extra crunchy crust.
How to make semolina and almond halva
200h Natco fine semolina
150g ghee
150g sugar
600ml milk
50g ground almonds
2 tbsp ground cardamom
In a saucepan, pour in milk, sugar, cardamom and bring to the boil. Remove and set aside. In a saucepan, melt the ghee over a medium heat. Mix in the semolina and stir continuously for 7 minutes until lightly browned. Add ground almonds and stir for 30 seconds. Gently pour in the milk mixture, stirring for 4 minutes until it is thick and on the verge of turning solid. Transfer to a greased serving dish. Cut into pieces serve hot or cold. Serves 6-8.
