Master Cook Katsu Curry Meal Kit, 350ml
Enjoy Japanese comfort food in record time with the Master Cook katsu curry meal kit. Katsu is a fried cutlet, usually made with pork or chicken. In Japan, the crispy cutlets are served with white rice and a mild curry sauce.
The kit includes panko breadcrumbs, Japanese curry sauce and a tangy salad dressing. With easy-to-follow instructions, you can have dinner on the table in under 20 minutes.
How to prepare your katsu curry:
- Dip flattened pork or chicken in beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumbs. Make sure the meat is evenly covered, pressing down on the crumbs to make them stick.
- Shallow fry the cutlet in oil until golden and cooked through. Flip it over to ensure it’s evenly cooked and brown on both sides.
- Drain on kitchen paper while you heat the sauce in a pan.
- To serve, slice your katsu and place it on top of cooked rice. Pour over the hot curry sauce and add a small side salad drizzled with the dressing.
Garnish your katsu curry with shredded spring onions. In Japan, it’s often served with tsukemono (pickles) to offset the richness of the sauce.
