Ladolea Greek Fleur De Sel Sea Salt in Ceramic Pot, 100g
Sprinkle Ladolea Greek fleur de sel over salads and souvlaki. Presented in a ceramic pot, the salt has a light texture and pure flavour. It is best used as a finishing salt at the end of cooking.
The salt is harvested by hand from the salt ponds of Messolonghi, Greece. Known locally as afrina, the salt forms on the surface of the water, creating delicate crystals. Fleur de sel has a briny, slightly bitter taste.
Use Greek fleur de sel to season salads with cucumber and ripe tomatoes. The clean, briny flavour enhances all kinds of grilled meat and fish. Scatter the crystals over steaks, sea bass and skewers of pork. Or, use them to season chips and roast potatoes.
Fleur de sel is also used in desserts. The delicate saline flavour balances the sweetness of rich chocolate. Sprinkle a few flakes on top of fudgy brownies or a dark chocolate tart.
The handmade ceramic pot is inspired by salt bowls used in ancient Greece. Dating back to 300 BC, the bowl was known as a skyphidion. They were used to serve salt, herbs and spices at social events and religious rituals.
The opaque ceramic protects the salt from direct sunlight. The cork lid absorbs excess moisture and stops the salt from clumping. The pot comes with a wooden spoon for scooping and scattering.

Ladolea is a family-owned company in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It was created by the Kloutsiniotis brothers (Panos and Thanos) in 2012. The oil is rooted in Greek history and culture.
The brothers work with local farmers to grow indigenous Corinthian olives using traditional, sustainable methods. The distinctive ceramic pots are inspired by ancient Greek jars, used to hold oil for Olympic athletes to oil their bodies, as long ago as 700 BC.
